Rule of thirds

The rule of thirds is applied by aligning a subject with the guide lines and their intersection points, placing the horizon on the top or bottom line, or allowing linear features in the image to flow from section to section. The main reason for observing the rule of thirds is to discourage placement of the subject at the center, or prevent a horizon from appearing to divide the picture in half.

Symmetrical images explanation

symmetry generally conveys two primary meanings. The first is an imprecise sense of harmonious or aesthetically pleasing proportionality and balance such that it reflects beauty or perfection. The second meaning is a precise and well-defined concept of balance or "patterned self-similarity" that can be demonstrated or proved according to the rules of a formal system: by geometry, through physics or otherwise.

i like the symmetrical images because they are unique to other types of pictures, the show one side but copied onto the other side and creates and nice effect, natural symmetry is hard to master as it is very hard to have the same things on both sides.

the elephant is very well done because his wrinkle corrolate, the inside of the building is good because there are 2 doors to go out of. And the large building is good symmetry because it is a large and the symmetry goes well with the picture.
